About the course
Course content
Subject 2 physical education 1-7 must together with subject 1 qualify for teaching physical education from grades 1-7 in primary school. Subject 2 focuses on the student teacher's development as a physical education teacher through theoretical and practical sessions. The student teachers will have the opportunity to develop their practical didactic competence through planning, implementation and assessment of their own and others' teaching practice.

- has knowledge of the body as a symbol in today's society with a focus on how this is expressed in children's culture.

- can carry out and assess teaching in physical education based on legislation, the current curriculum, and professional ethical guidelines.
- can facilitate learning work that can promote the joy of movement in play, activities in the local environment, and varied forms of movement.
- can assess the student's physical learning and prerequisites as a basis for adapted training and feedback that promotes learning.
- can develop and use their own skills and knowledge in varied movement activities such as play, dance, local outdoor life, and sports activities with a view to beginner training and teaching in physical education.
- can assess the student's goal achievement, justify the assessments, and facilitate the student's self-assessment.
- can identify dangers and ensure the pupils' safety in various activities and movement environments.
- can include the basic skills in teaching on the premises of the subject.
General competence

- can discuss how physical education contributes to the student's general education.
- can communicate with pupils, parents, and colleagues about physical education.
- can work with physical education in an interdisciplinary perspective, including the three interdisciplinary themes in the curriculum.

The program contains varied forms of learning with a lot of practical work in different learning environments. Students must work individually and in groups.

Mandatory work requirements:
- 80% compulsory attendance at classes.
- Approved up to 4 exercises.
The students can be assessed, required to take part in coursework and required to attend teaching related to interdisciplinary topics.
Mandatory work requirements are assessed with approved / not approved. All mandatory work requirements must be approved for the candidate to be able to take the exam.
Exam:
- Paper 20%
- Practical/oral 80%
