Course content

The course aims to nurture the passion the research field.
The research project will allow students to have the hands-on opportunity to develop pertinent skills in research, including the formulation of a research hypothesis, critique of published literature, experimental design methodologies, and data collection and analysis.

Learning outcome

At the end of this course, the student should be able to:

• to identify the question or hypothesis; carry out a literature survey on the subject matter; design methodologies to conduct a study; collect, organize and
• analyze data.

• communicate effectively through various means including oral presentations and written articles.

• produce an effective research poster appropriate for a poster presentation.

Learning methods and activities

Independent research project work on a relevant topic under supervision.

Compulsory assignments

  • The first draft of the FYP report will be assessed by the supervisors

Specific conditions

Exam registration requires that class registration is approved in the same semester. Compulsory activities from previous semester may be approved by the department.

A first degree (a bachelor's degree) in a relevant field
