About the course

Course content

At the end of this course, students should be able to deal with simple texts from newspapers. Writing skills in both descriptive and narrative genres are further developed, and towards the end of the course students should also be able to write simple argumentative texts. Orally, the students should be able to give clear, detailed descriptions on a wide range of subjects, in addition to state and explain their own reasons and opinions. They should be able to have a conversation with relative ease.

Learning outcome

The course is an intensive version of level 2. The course level is indicated with the help of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and is equivalent to level B1/B2.

Learning methods and activities

The course consists of approximately 70 hours of teaching distributed evenly during a few weeks during the end of July - the beginning of August.

Compulsory assignments

  • 80% attendance
  • At least 4 approved written assignments

Specific conditions

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Norwegian for Foreigners (NFUT)

Required previous knowledge

The candidate’s required previous knowledge should be equivalent at least to a Level A2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
