Course content

The target group is beginners or students without previous knowledge of Norwegian. The course focuses on basic Norwegian grammar and practical use of the language, in oral and written production.

Learning outcome

The course covers a part of the level 1 course. The candidate's level of knowledge is equivalent to at least Level A2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The course does not qualify for Level 2 in the NFUT Norwegian for Foreigners courses. Applicants to the Level 2 course must sit for the placement test.

Learning methods and activities

The course consists of approximately 70 hours of teaching distributed evenly during a few weeks during the end of July - the beginning of August.

  • 80% attendance
  • At least 3 approved written assignments
