Course content

At the end of this course, students should be able to deal with simple texts, for instance from newspapers. Writing skills in both descriptive and narrative genres are further developed.

Orally, the students should be able to give a simple description on a range of subjects, in addition to state and explain their own reasons and opinions.

Learning outcome

The course covers a part of the level 2 course. The course level is indicated with the help of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and is equivalent to level B1.

Learning methods and activities

The course consists of approximately 70 hours of teaching distributed evenly during a few weeks during the end of July - the beginning of August.

Compulsory assignments

  • 80% attendance
  • At least 3 approved written assignments

Specific conditions

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Norwegian for Foreigners (NFUT)

Required previous knowledge

The candidate is required previous knowledge should be equivalent at least to a Level A2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
