Learning outcome

Knowledge:

  • Of the most important perspectives, theories and analysis in the field
  • Of strategy processes with leadership as an important aspect
  • Of the relation between innovation and strategic decisions
  • Of how strategies contribute to sustainable value creation.
  • Of the state of the art in the field of strategy

Skills:

  • To be able to carry out internal and external analysis and actively
  • participate in strategy development.
  • To be able to make good, sustainable decisions through
  • consideration of different strategic alternatives.
  • To be able to find, evaluate and use relevant literature sources.

General competence:

  • To understand strategy as a management tool
  • To understand, communicate and discuss strategic terms, challenges, choices and consequences.
  • To develop an analytical and reflective approach to strategic leadership

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, open discussion,exercises, group work and compulsory work. Lectures will be in Norwegian.

The compulsory work may include obligatory attendance(es). Details on compulsory work is given at the start of the semester.

There is no re-sit exam when the examination arrangement is a Group Based Off-campus Exam, in accordance with NTNU's regulations.

In the case of a final examination after the course has been discontinued, the assessment format may be changed to an oral exam.
