Course content
Learning in Working Life, Everyday Life, and Society is an interdisciplinary field drawing on perspectives from sociology, organizational studies, and education. The course is based on a broad understanding of learning that includes both a lifelong and a life-wide perspective. This involves exploring learning as it occurs across diverse everyday contexts, within higher education, and in workplaces and organizations. The course introduces key concepts and theoretical perspectives that are essential to understand learning in working life, everyday life, and society. including knowledge, competence, organization, profession, communication, and inclusion. These topics are further illustrated in research that highlight the conditions for, and the significance of, learning in various practices.
Learning outcome
The student has developed knowledge and tools to understand, analyse, and support learning processes in various contexts through topics such as:
- Learning and competence in working life, everyday life, and society
- Learning environments and conditions for learning
- Innovation and change
- Democracy, diversity, and inclusion
- Technology, media, and communication
Learning methods and activities
Up to 3 hours of lectures and seminars per week.
