Course content
The course gives an introduction to the Nordic education model from a historical, pedagogical and comparative perspective. The development of education is examined in terms of social equality, trust, changing learning spaces and teaching practices as well as globalisation and policies related to technologisation and privatisation in education.
Learning outcome
The aim of the course is to give students knowledge about the education and welfare systems in the Nordic countries and that students learn to examine the relationship between education and the welfare state from a comparative perspective.
Learning methods and activities
Approximately 3 hours of lectures per week, organized as lectures, in-class discussion, seminars, tutoring, and assignments.

Form of assessment: 4 - hour individual written examination.
