About

About the course

Course content

This course focuses on learning, motivation and self-conception, and gives an overview of research and theories illuminating these constructs. Learning and motivation will be discussed in relation to different contexts with the emphasis on school and working life, and what characterizes learning contexts where knowledge and skills are expected to develop. The teaching and literature are research based. A particular emphasis will be put on how learning, motivation and self-conception are studied in empirical research. Therefore the course will provide the students with a good basis for their own research and development in this area. The emphasis is on research that shows the relation between learning environment, self-concept and motivation, how self-concept and motivation are influenced and developed, and what impact they have for the individuals’ learning outcome.
