About the course

Course content

The course offers an introduction to the field of international political economy, i.e. the interaction between markets and states at the international level. The students will be introduced to various theoretical models as well as previous empirical studies.

Learning outcome

Knowledge – the student shall:
- be in the forefront of knowledge in the field of international political economy and be in command of the area’s scientific theory and methods.
- be able to contribute to the development of new knowledge, new theories, methods, interpretations and documentation forms in Sociology
Skills - the student shall demonstrate the ability to:
- treat one of the themes which was discussed during instruction in an independent empirical analytical manner at an internationally high level.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures/group discussions. Supervision of term paper. The essay is to be an independent discussion of a topic taught in lectures, and is to consist of 20 pages.

Required previous knowledge

Master’s degree in Political Science or equivalent
