About the course

Course content

Emphasis will be on how economic reasoning can be used to discuss various research questions on topics such as unemployment, inflation, environmental problems, income distributions, and international economic cooperation.

Learning outcome

To provide the students with a basic knowledge of the most important concepts within micro- and macroeconomics and how simple micro- and macroeconomic models can be used to discuss the influence of economic politics on household economies, firms, and the economy in general.

Learning methods and activities

4 hours of lectures every week, and 2 hours of practical assignments every second week. Compulsory activity: 2 approved term papers. Both term papers can be written as a joint project by up to four students.
