About the course
Course content
This course focuses on the behavior of households and firms under different economic constraints. General equilibrium theory is also introduced.
Learning outcome
Knowledge
You learn
- definitions of key microeconomic concepts
- how the consumer's demand for goods and services is affected by prices and income
- how the firm's supply and it’s demand for inputs are affected by product- and factor prices
- how the microeconomic analytical tools can be applied to specific issues
Skills
You should be able to
- explain the microeconomic concepts and optimal choice of consumers and firms
- analyze specific issues using graphical and mathematical analysis
General competence
You should be able to
- follow economic reasoning related to the course in the public debate and professional reports
