About

About the course

Course content

The course explores and develops pedagogical work in kindergartens and schools. The focus is on community-building teaching and learning processes that promote all children's mastery and attachment. This involves practices for recognition and appreciation that strengthen children's attachment opportunities in the social community, and the formation of a democratic educational environment.

Key tools are teaching and facilitation that promote skills in cooperative learning between children who have different strengths, recognition between different children, and recognition of the value of difference within and across all socially created categories of people. Facilitation for children with special needs within the community is central.

Students will learn to use a breadth of sensory impressions as a basis for teaching and learning experiences, with a focus on bodily experiences as a source of variation in work with adapted education. Work with bodily learning requires creative work with place and space, and the course will provide insight into different uses of outdoor spaces, school and kindergarten spaces, and the local environment.

Furthermore, the students' experience with collegial development work and collaboration on inclusive and global practice will form the basis for exploring the possibilities for collective strengthening of inclusive practice in their own workplace.
