Læringsutbytte - Kunnskap:
have knowledge of the human body's structure
have knowledge of the organs normal functions and how the organ systems are functioning together
have knowledge of clinical important biochemical processes
have knowledge of the clinical most important microorganisms, how they multiply and cause infections in humans
have knowledge of the chain of infection, basic infection prevention and hygienical principles
have knowledge of infections in hospitals and resistance development
have knowledge of important infection control procedures
have knowledge of important concepts and terminology in the subject
Læringsutbytte - Ferdigheter:
apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology in nursing assessments and measures
apply knowledge of microbiology and hygiene in the provision of nursing care to prevent and decrease infections
Learning methods and activities
Pedagogiske metoder:
Lectures, self study, tests, e-learning. Practical training and simulation in the nursing laboratory. Clincal placement.
Obligatoriske arbeidskrav:
Two coursework requirements have to be passed. One of the coursework is a multiple choice test that has to be passed with minimum 80 % right. Approved coursework requirements are valid for the year of approval and two subsequent years. If the subject code is changed, special rules apply. 70 % compulsory attendance in the lectures and other curricular activity.

Access to the course is limited to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing program at NTNU in Aalesund.
