About the course

Course content

In this theory seminar we focus on modern sociological theories and how these can be used in sociological analyses. Sociological theory will be treated as a tool to understand current events. We also try to be critical to the application of these theories in sociological research. The students are encouraged to write a research paper which can be relevant for their master's thesis. SOS3506 is offered as an extension of SOS3001. The term paper will be an independent analysis of one of the topics covered by the lectures, and should be 15-20 pages long (5600-7500 words).
