Course content
The course gives a further introduction to Spanish grammar with emphasis on theoretical issues as well as practical use of the language.
Learning outcome
A candidate who has passed the course is expected to have obtained the following learning outcome in accordance with the course description, defined as knowledge, skills and general qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE
The candidate
-is expected to have thorough knowledge about how one writes a coherent text in Spanish
-is expected to have broad knowledge about basic grammatical terms
-is expected to be familiar with the terminology used for Spanish phonology and morphology as well as syntax (compound sentences)
-is expected to have knowledge about several Spanish verb tenses
-is expected to have advanced linguistic knowledge
SKILLS
The candidate
-is expected to be able to write lengthy, academic texts in Spanish
-is expected to be able to understand the basic content in various Spanish texts
-is expected to be able to engage in conversations dealing with various topics in Spanish
-is expected to be able to carry out a syntactic analysis of compound sentences
-is expected to be able to use his/her knowledge about Spanish grammar to improve his/her own language proficiency
-is expected to be able to improve his/her command of the Spanish language
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate
-is expedted to have insight into source criticism
-is expected to be able to plan and carry out comprehensive linguistic tasks and projects
-is expected to be able to convey advanced academic material such as theories, problems and solutions, both in writing, orally and through other relevant forms of expression
-is expeced to be able to reflect critically on on his/her own academic practice and ajust this practice under supervision
-is expected to master relevant academic tools
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and group sessions.
The students will be given conversation exercises, and will work in pairs as well as in groups. To ensure a satisfactory study progression, the student should participate actively both in lectures and seminars.
Exam:
The grade which is given after the written exam may be altered after the oral exam. Failing a part of the exam means failing the entire course. Failing the course, means the student must resit both parts of the exam (both written and oral).
Compulsory assignments

- 4 written hand-ins, 1/2 - 1 pages
