About the course
Course content
Students will acquire basic written and oral proficiency in Spanish at level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

KNOWLEDGE
The candidate
- has knowledge of Spanish everyday culture and key aspects in the Spanish-speaking communities.
- has knowledge of different types of text.
- has knowledge of the different parts of speech and can apply these according to the grammatical system.
- has knowledge of Spanish sentence structures.
SKILLS
The candidate
- can understand and communicate in written and oral Spanish at level B1 with high degree of grammatical correctness.
- can participate in conversations on familiar subjects in Spanish.
- can make efficient use of reference books.
- can read, understand and talk about Spanish texts about common everyday topics.
-can use Spanish sentence structure correctly
-can make conversations about events in past tense, present tense and future tense, with correct use of the Spanish verbal system
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate
- can plan and carry out comprehensive linguistisc tasks and projects.
- is able to reflect critically on his/her own academic practice and adjust this practice under supervision
-can make efficient use of relevant professional tools
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and group sessions focusing on proficiency training in Spanish. Failing a part of the exam means failing the entire course. Failing the course, means the student must resit both parts of the exam (both written and oral).
Lectures will be recorded and made available online.

Recommended previous knowledge
There are no formal prerequisites, but it is strongly recommended that students have completed Spanish Level II successfully from high school, or possess equivalent qualifications (equivalent A2 of the Common European Framework of Referance fo Languages). Students who do not have this expertise is recommended to take SPA0501 and SPA0502 before they take the course.

If you get A2 or better your level is good enough. If you get A1 or lower you will have to study much to pass the exam in this course.
