Course content

The thesis must satisfy requirements of relevance and is expected to acquire new knowledge that targets specific goals or applications.

The student formulates a problem for the master thesis.

Learning outcome

Knowledge
The candidate:
- Has deep insight into the issue raised in the master thesis.
- Has advanced insight into theory relevant to the problem.
- Has insight into the research method necessary to analyse the research question.

Skills
The candidate:
- Can formulate a problem, search for and review relevant literature, choose analysis method, possibly design an empirical study and present empirical studies, conduct analyses and draw conclusions.
- Can plan and carry out a major investigation work within given time and resource frameworks.

General competence
The candidate:
- Can carry out an independent, limited research project under supervision in line with current research ethical norms.

Learning methods and activities

The master thesis should be an independent work under supervision.
Allotment of supervisor will take place in October 3rd semester. The master thesis is written alone or with a fellow student (ie max 2 students).

Further on evaluation

If there are special causes (e.g. illness), students may apply for postponement until 31 August the same following year.

The course is only available to students who have the right to study at the Master's program in Technology Management at NTNU Business School.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Management of Technology (ØAMLT)

Required previous knowledge

Examination in compulsory subjects must be passed by the registration deadline. TØS410, BSOL4610, TSOL410, TMF410, TIF410, TMET410 og BSOL4620.
