Course content
Transport policy topics. Travel pattern and travel surveys. Transport modelling with emphasis on four step modelling. Public transport.
Learning outcome
Knowledge
The candidate should have knowledge of:
- Travel behaviour; about driving forces and factors affecting travel behaviour, and about how to collect and utilise travel data.
- Mathematical modelling of transport demand, emphasising personal travels.
- Structure and operation of an established transport model.
Skills
The candidate is able to:
- Plan and carry through a travel survey, and analyse the results
- Estimate the effects of infrastructural and political measures
- Use an established transport model to perform simple analyses.
General competance
The candidate can:
- Comprehend and present transport related themes to others
- Document systematical project work through report writing
- Handle great amounts of data
- Approach the discurse in transportation planning, both the public and the professional, with critical curiosity.
Learning methods and activities
Class lectures, teamwork, seminars and exercises. The exercises are weighted 30% when giving final marks. Teaching language is Norwegian. If there is a re-sit examination, the examination form may be changed from written to oral.
