Learning outcome
Knowledge:
- Highway planning -Asphalt binders and mix design methods
- Loads and structural design methods for pavements.
Skills:
- Perform geometric design of roads by the NovaPoint software
- Make a professional choice of asphalt binder
- Use different methods to perform asphalt mix design
- Perform structural design of roads to withstand traffic and climatic loads.
General competence:
- The principles for geometric design of roads and streets, and is thereby able to prepare detailed plans for such infrastructure elements
- Understand the data flow between different planning levels
- Perform reasonable material choices for different pavement layers/elements
- Perform structural design of pavements to withstand today's and future changes of climate and traffic.
