About

About the course

Course content

There was traditionally an unclear distinction between the carpenter and the carpenter in house building. It was normally considered carpentry to make exterior cladding, doors, windows, floors and possibly interior cladding, although it may well have been the carpenter who did much of the work.

In particular, doors, windows, stairs, filling panels, moldings and the like were considered carpentry. These building parts require that you work with great accuracy, with a good selection of special tools, in dried materials, indoors.

Traditionally, doors, windows and moldings are made with a great variety in appearance and method of production. The candidate will, through a representative sample, study material selection, tools and workplace, techniques and production methods for rational and accurate production.

Original building parts and tools are studied as a basis for making copies. Understanding the process and requirements for accuracy and composition methods are key topics
