About the course
Course content
In order to gain experience in doing independent systematic and investigative work as a conclusion to the bachelor's education, the students work under supervision with their own work.
The student should be able to arrive at relevant issues within traditional building crafts and formulate this orally and in writing.
Students will familiarize themselves with the subject area and learn to work methodically with different types of sources of knowledge.
The student will learn to evaluate existing knowledge in the form of literature or other documentation. Central to the work is the interaction between student and supervisors during the work.
Learning outcome
Lectures and independent literature study on problem formulation, literature search, essay writing and argumentation.
Seminar with exercises where students will come up with a problem and examine the knowledge base / relevant literature in collaboration with supervisors.
Independent work under supervision with problem formulation and project plan for the project. Implementation of practical project with guidance and professional follow-up.
Documentation and description of the project. Independent work.
The assignment can be completed in groups of up to 3 students
Learning methods and activities
The bachelor thesis is primarily carried out as group work (up to 3 students in a group) but can be carried out as individual work by agreement. If up to 3 students have independent projects that are closely related to each other, these can form a working group with independent submissions. All forms of work must be supervised. Presentations of the status of your own project and reflections on your own and others' work
Further on evaluation
The overall assessment of the overall grade is weighted as follows:
Rating of: practical examination 50%. (Craft level.) assignment 30% (Documentation of practical investigation and/or exercise) practical/oral exam. Presentation of research and thesis 20% The subject ends with a practical investigation which is documented in an assignment.
The assignment is presented as a practical/oral exam for an audience. Skipping a practical examination leads to repetition of the subject the next time it is taught. In the event of a valid absence from an assignment, the assignment must be handed in by a new deadline in agreement with the course supervisor.
If an assignment is failed, the revised assignment and practical/oral exam must be retaken at a new deadline by agreement with the course supervisor. In the event of failure or a valid absence from the practical/oral exam, this must be retaken at a new deadline by agreement with the course supervisor.
