Course content

Drinking Water Regulations. Water supply system, pressure zone division, leak detection. Use of EPANET for simulation. Pipe design and design of pipes according to NS3420. Sewage and sewage treatment. Sewage systems, storm water technology. Pump stations and pipes. Simulation and dimensioning vs. Mike Urban Mouse. renewal of pipes. Roofs in road construction work; Novapoint with emphasis on the road module. Detailed planning. Impact. Mass and cost calculation. Road environment. Traffic Technique: Characteristics of traffic and road users. Traffic calculations, traffic volume. Traffic safety. Crossroads, settlement and capacity. Operation and maintenance. Reinforcement of road. Introduction to area plans, execution of regulation plans and technical plans.

Learning outcome

KNOWLEDGE Road planning: The candidate will have knowledge about - geometric design and technical execution of roads and streets. - about the various elements of a traffic system. road planning at both overview and detail level - the characteristics of the traffic and road user, and know the use thereof in road safety work. - operation and maintenance of road and road equipment and knowing methods for reinforcing and repairing roads. KNOWLEDGE Water and wastewater: The candidate must have knowledge about: - the drinking water regulations - leakage search - the water supply system design - drainage of wastewater - Waste water treatment - drainage systems design - Renoval of pipes. Skills Road planning The candidate should be able to - by using EDB tools design different alternatives for a longer roadmap, with emphasis on terrain adaptation, alignment and amount calculation. - Present plan and profile drawings adapted to different plan levels. - Evaluate the condition and calculate necessary reinforcement measures for existing road. - make calculations and assessments for the design of various cross-solutions - carry out cost calculations and impact assessments of a road project - apply current standards to assess measures for the operation and maintenance of existing road. - Make calculations and simple analyzes related to road safety work SKILLS water and wastewater: The candidate should be able to: - Perform a pressure zone division - Perform simpler analyzes with Epanet - Perform pipeline design for pressure lines - Design pipes according to NS3420 - Perform calculations of stormwater and use stormwater management- Use the simulation software Mike Urban Mouse With the time area Method. SKILLS Area planning: The candidate should be able to prepare a medium-level regulatory plan. The candidate should be able to prepare a technical plan related to a regulatory plan. GENERAL COMPETENCE - The candidate must have good skills in the use of professional sources, professional methods, applicable laws and regulations, as well as standards for planning, engineering, construction, management, operation, maintenance. - The candidate should be able to participate in professional discussions within the relevant subject areas and share his / her knowledge and experience with others, both in Norwegian and English.
