Learning outcome


The student should: -Remote for the physical, mechanical and material properties that affect the dimensioning of composites and plastics- to account for the most important theoretical principles for design and construction of composite and plastic products.



The student will: - document skills in the use of standard software for design and calculation of plastic and composite components-demonstrate skills in the laboratory to verify the design basis for composite and plastic components


General skills:

The student should: Be able to judge and compare if the calculation basis for a component is correct and could generate documents that verify the component.

Learning methods and activities

Additional information:


The theoretical basis will be discussed in lecture. Students will receive weekly assignments. Students will use laboratory facilities to carry out experimental tests.

For web students, 1 compulsory laboratory is required at Gjøvik during the semester.


Mandatory work requirements:


Solving 2-3 exercises in laboratory with report


In case of less than 10 students registered, the course will take place as a self study with guidance.
