About

About the course

Course content

This course is taught every year, provided there is a suffient number of students attending. Acoustic wave equation in heterogeneous, nonlinear, soft tissue. Types of heterogeneities, mechanisms of acoustic power absorption and nonlinear bulk elasticity. Modelling and analysis of 1) forward propagation wave front aberrations, 2) multiple scattering, reverberations, 3)propagation and scattering effects with nonlinear elasticity, and 4) propagation and scattering in tissues that contain contrast agent micro bubbles. Methods for corrections of wave front aberrations and pulse reverberations. Two-dimensional and sparse arrays. Estimation of velocity and strain rate for moving scatterers.
