Elementary algebra Equations and inequalities, equation system Trigonometric functions, trigonometric identities, triangel calculations, trigonometric equations Spherical trigonometri Vector arithmetic, scalar product, vector product. Using vectors to solve applied problems Exponential- and logarithmic functions Limits, techniques of differentiation, applied maximum and minimum problems Integral, applications of the definite integral
Learning outcome
Learning outcomes - Knowledge: Have good knowledge about the topics specified under the heading "Academic content" Learning outcomes - Skills: Be able to do calculations with trigonometric functions in the plane and on the surface of a sphere Be able to use vector arithmetic, calculate torque by using the vector product Be able to define a function for an applied problem, and use differentiation to determine the maximum- or minimum values for the function Be able to use integration to find the area of a plane region and the volume of a solid Learning outcomes - Expertise: Be able to use mathematical methods within other subjects in nautical education Have a mathematical foundation for further studies, lifelong learning in nautical courses and contribute to good practice in the sustainable application of their profession
