Learning outcome
Knowledge: The candidate:
- Has basic knowledge of building physical contexts within heat penetration, moisture and sound.
- has knowledge of fire as a physical phenomenon and the principles of fire protection in the building regulations, as the basis for simple fire planning
- has knowledge of how outdoor climate affects the climate and indoor environment of buildings and how to design buildings based on this
- can refer to technical authority requirements related to performance, including historical development
- is familiar with research and development work and standards in construction technology and can update their knowledge of this through information retrieval
- can write an academic report according to basic principles
- has basic knowledge of technical drawing according to the Norwegian standard and the design of building constructions using digital technology -
- can account for the basic material characteristics of the most widely used building materials
Skills: The candidate can:
- draw simple detail drawings of building constructions on a scale and prepare overview and principle drawings, by hand and with DAK
- apply calculation methods to document and evaluate the qualities of new and existing building constructions, including heat, moisture and sound calculations.
- apply current guidelines based on standards for design, engineering and documentation of common technical solutions.
- calculate the energy requirements and power requirements of a building, both manually and using tools.
- carry out fire engineering assessments of buildings, with emphasis on the protection of life and health.
General competence: The candidate:
- can plan and carry out varied building engineering tasks, alone and in groups using recognized methods and techniques according to applicable legislation, in accordance with ethical requirements and guidelines
- Has insight into the environmental consequences of materials, products and solutions in construction technology, and can put this into an ethical perspective and a lifecycle perspective
- can present their results and analyzes in both written and oral

Further on evaluation
Permitted examination aids: Writing and drawing equipment. A re-sit examination is held in August. Continuation and voluntary repetition / improvement can be carried out for some sub-evaluations without having to reassess both sub-evaluations in a topic. There is an opportunity to complain about partial assessments in this topic before all sub-evaluations have been completed.
