Course content
Engelsk
Welding terminology. Selected methods for fusion welding, solid state welding and energy beam welding. Heat transport in the workpiece. Stress and deformation. Welding metallurgy. Welding defects and fractures. Welding tests. Welding procedures and welding certificates. Standards used in welding. Simple strength calculations of welds. Costs of welding in manufacturing. Welding and HSE.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and mandatory theory- and evt. laboratory exercises.

Further on evaluation
Re-sit examination in summer next year. For the re-sit exam the written form might be changed to oral examination based on lecturer's evaluation.
