Masterprogramme

Real Estate and Facilities Management

The Master’s degree programme in Real Estate and Facilities Management is a programme of professional study that provides comprehensive qualifications within real estate development and management. The programme equips the students to practice as real estate developers and managers within several different areas such as projecting, physical planning, research and education in the private and public sectors. The starting point for the programme is existing urban areas and buildings and infrastructure, and the students will look at the development and management of these areas in relation to new technical requirements, standards, and the demand for housing, commercial buildings and public services.

The teaching in the real estate and facilities management programme includes subjects dealing with property development, facility management, programming and evaluation of buildings, laws and regulations related to building and real estate management, and project and finance management. The field of study is interdisciplinary/cross-faculty and is offered in cooperation between the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Art, and the Faculty of Engineering Science and Technology.

The study is based on fundamental knowledge in technology, architecture, construction, organization and management, or economy. The development and management of buildings and real estate is in focus, as well as the transformation of existing buildings. Interdisciplinary cooperation will be organized between students with different academic backgrounds from previous studies.
