50 mill. NOK to the Research Fund of the Kavli Institute

The savings bank Sparebanken 1 SMN's donation to the Brain Research Fund is a very important contribution! Primarily because the Fund significantly will increase its annual allocations to research at the Kavli Institute. We know that the money from the Brain Research Fund means a lot because it is money without restrictions beyond the fact that they will be used for brain research.

The donation is a contribution in line with Fred Kavli's vision of promoting science for the benefit of humanity by supporting basic research and by strengthening the connection between science and society. It is incredibly important that an institution such as Sparebank 1 SMN chooses long-term support for basic research in this way. The bank contributes to Fred Kavli's vision!

The donation also shows that it is possible to build a significant fund for basic research at a world-leading research environment in Norway.

To the top against Alzheimer's Disease

Support research in the search for a cure for Alzheimer's! A charity project by Nils-Jarle Sætre to create transparency around Alzheimer's and raise funds for research at the Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience. The summer of 2023 we cheered Nils-Jarle through Lofoten and up to Sørøya in Finnmark.

He has a strong desire to create transparency about the disease and help those who are and will be affected. During his trips, he has met many people, struck up a conversation, shared thoughts and stories as well as given several strong and moving lectures. What a fantastic commitment!

He also have a concrete goal of collecting one million norwegian kroner for the basic research at the Kavli Institute.
