Picture of student in the library

The Ålesund Library has a big collection of printed and electronic books, nautical maps, encyclopedia and journals in our subject areas: Biology, Social Science, Engineering Science, Natural Science, International Business, Maritime Technology and Maritime Operations. If you want something we do not have in our collections, we can usually borrow it from other libraries.

Use the library’s subject pages and blogs for information about databases, important e-resources, relevant courses and news.

Overview and access to the databases the library subscribes to can be found in Oria. As a student, you can access these on campus or via remote access (VPN).

Printed assignments and projects can be found in the library but are not for loan. Assignments from 2015 onwards can also be found in NTNU Open Ålesund.

Books on the syllabus shelf by the service desk can be borrowed for one day. Day-loan books cannot be reserved or renewed.

We have newspapers available in the library. In addition, you can access electronic newspapers from all over the world from computers in the library.
