African Studies - One-Year Programme

One-year programme

African Studies - One-Year Programme

There will be no admission to this study programme in 2018/2019.

The one-year programme gives broad insight in African societies, especially history, ethnicity and politics. It is possible to study the one-year programme as a single unit, or to combine it with other subjects, for instance by including it as elective courses in a bachelor's degree.

The one-year programme in African Studies consists of core courses (30 credits) and elective courses (30 credits). The core courses are AFR1000, AFR1009 and AFR2850, which are all offered during the first semester of the bachelor's degree. The elective courses are AFR1002, AFR1110 and all the electives offered as part of the bachelor's degree in African Studies.

Please note that the language of instruction is mostly Norwegian, consult the course list for an overview of courses held in English at the University.
