It will examine the text-context dialectic—the ways in which texts are formed by the context from which they emerge, and also the ways in which they react back upon this context. The texts involved may all be of the same type or they may be mixed. More detailed information concerning the syllabus will be made available in the reading list at the start of the semester in which the course is taught.
