Course content
Language of instruction is English.
This course will focus on a specific body of cultural texts that are linked through a shared context or contexts—social, historical, ideological or intellectual. It will examine the text-context dialectic—the ways in which texts are formed by the context from which they emerge, and also the ways in which they react back upon this context. The texts involved may all be of the same type or they may be mixed. More detailed information concerning the syllabus will be made available in the reading list at the start of the semester in which the course is taught.

Learning methods and activities
A combination of lectures, seminars, group activity, and/or supervision. Students are required to use the course learning platform regularly.
Students should expect that this 7.5 credit course equates with approximately 10 hours of work per week, including teaching time.

- 1-3 written and/or oral assignments, equivalent to 2000-2500 words in total. Specific tasks will be defined at the start of the semester.
Approved obligatory assignment is valid for 2 semesters (the semester in which the approval is given, plus the following semester).

About the assessment
The exam must be answered in English. The course is assessed by a written home examination (3 days), approximately 3000 words.
