Course content
The course provides an introduction to various aspects of Music Technology for a Performing Musician, including creative use of musical softvare, basic knowlegde of microfones, sound editing and studio recording, music technology in combination with performing improvised music.
Learning outcome
Knowledge:
The candidate:
-Knows how musical software can be used in arranging/composing.
-Has basic knowledge about choosing microphones and basic routines for working in a recording studio.
-Has knowledge about how music technology can be used as part of an improvisational music-performance.
Skills:
The candidate:
-Can use music software for arranging/composing music.
-Can justify why he/she has chosen different microphones when recording different instruments.
-Can use music technology in concert situations.
Learning methods and activities
Group instructions - 40 lessons. Several exercises. The main focus in these exercises/assignments is creative sound processing and using music technology in musical performance.

Musikk, utøvende (BMUSK)
Required previous knowledge
Requires admission to the Bachelor's programme in Music Performance Studies.
