Bio
School of Forest, Fisheries and Geomatics Sciences and the Global Food Systems Institute, University of Florida. Frank Asche received his PhD from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration. He was at the University of Stavanger before joining the University of Florida in 2016. He has been a Fulbright Scholar and a member of the science advisory board for the Worldfish Centre. He is Fellow of the World Aquaculture Society (WAS), the Institute of Fisheries Economics and Trade (IIFET) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), editor for Aquaculture Economics and Management, and past president of the International Association of Aquaculture Economics and Management and the North American Association of Fisheries Economists. Professor Asche's research focuses on aquaculture and seafood markets, as well as fisheries management, energy economics and broader food systems. Recent topics include international seafood trade, food supply chain organization, and the impact of productivity development on aquaculture and seafood markets. He has published widely in economics and multidisciplinary journals (e.g., Science, PNAS), edited Primary Industries Facing Global Markets (2007), and co-authored The Economics of Aquaculture with Trond Bjørndal. He has led projects for organizations including FAO, OECD, the World Bank and WTO, and served on the drafting committee of Norway’s marine resources law.

Christian is a Professor in Financial Economics and Mathematical Finance. He is affiliated with the University of Glasgow, UK, the University of Inland, Norway and Umeå University, Sweden. His fields of interest are Quantitative Finance, Risk Management, and Commodities. He was educated at the Universities of Mainz (MSc) and Heidelberg (PhD) and holds a higher doctorate (Habilitation) from the University of Kaiserslautern, all in Germany. He has previously held positions at the University of Sydney, Nottingham University Business School (China), University College Cork, University of St. Andrews and the University of Leeds. Christian has been working on Aquaculture Risk Management and Investment for 15 years and has published on this topic in journals such as the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Aquaculture, European Journal of Operational Research, and Marine Resource Economics.

Kevin Kamm is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics at Umeå University, Sweden. He received his PhD in financial mathematics from the University of Bologna, following studies in mathematics at the Technische Universität Berlin. His research interests include financial mathematics, stochastic analysis, and commodities, with a particular focus on deep learning methods and high-performance computing for optimal stopping and control of S(P)DEs. He became involved in aquaculture-related research in 2023 during his postdoctoral work at Umeå University, under the supervision of Professor Christian Ewald.

Ursula Landazuri-Tveteraas has a master degree in Industrial Economics from the University of Stavanger and likewise a PhD in the same field from 2020. Her research focuses on applied economics in the fields of seafood and tourism, where she has studied trade and industry structure. She has used econometric and statistical analyses for her investigation, conducting cointegration and survival analyses. Recently she is also interested in circular economy and topics related to green shift. She is currently involved in projects linked to raw material usage in blue sector and spillover effects from investments in the energy and ocean economy.
