Anfaj Islam
About
I am a PhD candidate at the Department of Electric Energy, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), working on condition assessment of medium-voltage underground cables using pulse detection and machine learning. My research focuses on developing intelligent methods for early fault detection and predictive maintenance of power cable systems by combining experimental studies, simulation, signal processing, and AI-based approaches.
My research interests include high-voltage engineering, partial discharge diagnostics, transient analysis, machine learning, and deep learning applications in power systems. I am particularly interested in applying data-driven techniques to improve the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of modern electrical infrastructure.
I completed my studies in Renewable Energy Systems with a background in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, where I developed a strong interest in power systems, condition monitoring, and the integration of artificial intelligence into engineering applications.
