About

Ashis Jalote Parmar is an Associate Professor at NTNU’s Department of Design, specializing in Design for Health and Innovation. With 20 years of experience as an academic, designer, and researcher, she focuses on human-centered development of digital products and systems for health, leveraging technologies like AR, VR, AI, and embedded systems. A Marie Curie Fellow with a PhD from TU Delft, Ashis has led and contributed to numerous international projects on maternal health, cancer, dementia, and obesity, creating innovative solutions for diverse user groups working in interdisciplinary clinical experts. She has currently established a Design for Health Research Lab at NTNU and has published widely in leading journals, earning global recognition for her work.

Interactive and project based teaching pedagogy - The pedagogy for my courses is highly interactive, personalized mentoring, encourages peer learning, group working and hands on experience in working with a real life design complex problem solving. I like engaging and interacting with students and provide personal mentoring time.

 I have 10 years of executive teaching experience. Before teaching in the Life Long Learning programs at NTNU EVU, I was aFaculty Chair for Executive Education in Design, Indian Institute of Management, Ahemdabad, India (IIMA)  I have selivered at national level Customized Executive programs on Innovation and Design Thinking for Senior leaders in positions such as Innovation heads, Presidents, Vice presidents, CTO, CIO, CFO.
