About
My research focuses on the application of dimiension reduction techniques for datasets on ecological communities. Dimension reduction techniques for multivariate data are referred to as "ordination" in ecology.
Classical ordination techniques such as PCA, CA, or NMDS have various caveats, so in order to improve the ordination of ecological communities, we work on the development, application, and useability, of model-based ordination. For my research, that is mostly in the context of the gllvm R-package.
Recently, we have started to develop improved (model-based) ordination methods that include predictors, i.e., constrained and concurrent ordination. In my postdoc I will be developing a new R-package for hierarchical ordination.
