About

I am a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies of Culture and affiliated with the Center for Gender Research. In my doctoral thesis I examine, through life story narratives, how men understand and communicate a challenging relationship with food, body image, and/or exercise.

I am particularly interested in the role gender play in the understanding and communication of men’s relationship with food, body, and exercise. Most of the research we have on eating disorders or on a challenging relationship with food, body, and exercise, is based on women’s experiences. The goal of this research project is to contribute to a better understanding of men’s specific experiences. I am currently recruiting men over the age of 18 to participate in the project. If you would like to participate or learn more about the project, please contact me via this form: https://nettskjema.no/a/589571

The project is funded by the Faculty of Humanities at NTNU through an open PhD call.
