Background and activities

Heidi Strømskag is a Professor at the Department of Mathematical Sciences since 2021 (associate professor 2015–2021). She has an MSc in mathematics from NTNU, and a PhD in mathematics education from the University of Agder. Strømskag is a member of the research group for didactics of mathematics. Her research areas are teaching and learning of algebra, didactic engineering, and mathematical modelling. 

Project: CiviMatics – Interdisciplinary mathematical modelling meets civic education (Erasmus+).

Strømskag is a member of the INDRUM Scientific Committee (International Network for Didactic Research in University Mathematics). She is leader of the Teaching Committee of the Norwegian Mathematics Council, and Norway's representative to ICMI (International Commission on Mathematical Instruction).
