Ida Marie Stephansen is working as a PhD candidate at the Department of Biotechnology and Food Science in the research group Circular Bioprocesses under the supervision of Fernando Pérez García. Working with a bacterium called Corynebacterium glutamicum and are expanding its substrate and product portfolio. Currently working with carbohydrates from seaweed.
From fall 2025 to spring 2026, she is the temporary employee representative on the NTNU board.
She holds a Master of Science from NTNU, Norway, in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, specializing in microbial biotechnology and molecular genetics.
