Background and activities
My Ph.d. project is a qualitative study on how the event of pregnancy and the first years of motherhood and parenthood are becoming increasingly digitalized practises in Norway. Through the usage of smartphones, social media and related app technology (femtech), pregnant women and becoming parents gain different, if not new, ways to govern and mediate their pregnancies, (unborn) child(ren) and roles as mothers and fathers. Through the project, I explore the digitalization of pregnancy as it unfolds in the Norwegian society and through the experiences of the participants in this study.
