About

My research work is on the interaction between surface waves and turbulence, in particular in the ocean. Specifically, I work within the Thermo-fluids research group, on the WaTurSheD project lead by Simen Å. Ellingsen, who is also my PhD supervisor.

WaTurSheD aims to better understand the triple interaction of surface waves, turbulence and mean shear flow in the upper ocean and in that improve current climate and ocean models. My work within the project focuses mainly on the numerical analysis of simulations and lab data from the water channel, as well as theoretical contributions to the development of an improved theory of ocean surface waves.

I have a background from physics, completing a MSc in Applied Physics and Mathematics at NTNU in 2023. My specialisation was within geophysical fluid mechanics and numerics. In my master's thesis, I studied small-scale internal gravity waves in the mid- to high-altitude atmosphere, and their interactions with large-scale planetary/Rossby waves. My thesis can be found here: https://ntnuopen.ntnu.no/ntnu-xmlui/handle/11250/3097924
