Background and activities

I hold Master's degree in Petroleum Geology from Department of Geoscience and Petroleum at NTNU.

I started my PhD in September 2018 at the Department of Geoscience and Petroleum. The PhD research will be carried out as part of the BRU21 (Better Resources Utilization in the 21 century) project.  BRU21 program is focusing on the multidisciplinary areas of digitalization and automation solutions to the major problems in the petroleum industy.

The title of my PhD project is: Automated lithology classification employing whole core CT scans. The project will address rock typing based on automated image analysis routines, and also investigates the possibilities for machine learning procedures based on the CT image and well logs.

Equinor is the industry partner providing the data required for the research work. The project is expected to be completed by 2021.
