Current research

I am an ecologist at the Center for Biodiversity Dynamics (CBD) working on the project "Community dynamics in a rapidly warming high Arctic: trophic synchrony in time and space (INSYNC)" as part of the Community Dynamics group.

The aim of my PhD project is to understand and describe community dynamics under climatic perturbations. To do that, I use a combination of experimental, empirical, and theoretical approaches to improve our understanding of how more frequent extreme climatic events (ECEs) may impact species dynamics at a community level. I will use a well-monitored Arctic terrestrial community as an empirical starting point and then generalize through theoretical modelling and simulations of hypothetical yet realistic communities with different life-history traits and trophic structures.
