Background and activities

Project: "Metabolomics-driven optimisation of recombinant protein production in E. coli and P. pastoris (MetaboProt)"

Recombinant protein production (RPP) is an expanding field with increasing economic significance. Recombinant proteins play important roles in society, serving as biopharmaceuticals and contributing to more sustainable industrial enzymatic processes. The main goal of MetaboProt is to widen the knowledge about the metabolic burden derived from high level RPP and identify metabolic bottlenecks that can be addressed to improve its efficiency.

MetaboProt is a Marie Curie/FINS project in collaboration with Vectron Biosolutions.
