Background and activities

Mudasir Ahmad Wani is an alumnus of International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIIT-B). He studied bachelors (in Computer Applications), Masters (in Computer Applications) and M.Phil (Data Mining) from University of Kashmir (UoK) in 2009, 2012 and 2014 respectively. He did his doctoral (Ph.D.) studies at the Department of Computer Science, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, in 2019 and has several research publications of international repute. Furthermore, he worked as an assistant professor (guest faculty) at Jamia Millia Islamia - a central university in India.

Mudasir’s research focuses on extraction and analysis of data available on social networking sites and application of different statistical and machine learning techniques in developing prediction models. He has more than 4 years of research experience from an academic research institute with specialties in Data Mining, Text Analytics, Online Social Network Analysis (OSNA) and Machine Learning.

Currently working on the project “Emotion and behavior mining from social media web sources in support to distinguish malicious identities from real ones”.
