Omar Kusay Sabri
About
I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at NTNU, with a focus on infrastructure, construction engineering, and conflict management. Since 2009, I have taught core courses in construction engineering and geology at the bachelor level, and contributed to master's-level teaching in construction and project management.
As academic coordinator for the Construction Engineering (Anleggsteknikk) major, I lead curriculum development and maintain strong ties to industry needs. I emphasize active and student-centered learning, integrating real-world case studies, digital tools, and flipped classroom strategies. My teaching consistently receives high student satisfaction, and my bachelor and master students have received national recognition for their work.
My research bridges practice and academia, focusing on conflict prevention, partnering models, and sustainability in large infrastructure projects. I have authored several peer-reviewed journal articles, developed frameworks like TVINNSAM and 3FF, and contribute to public debate through national media and professional outreach. I am also an Official Nominator for the VinFuture Prize and an active reviewer for international journals.
I am committed to combining pedagogical development, research-based teaching, and industry collaboration to improve learning outcomes and project practices in the construction sector.
