About

Saad is a PhD student working in the HolE-LiB project which aims to develop a holistic understanding of the fate of end-of-life batteries by addressing technical, economic, and design perspectives. The project is a multidisciplinary collaboration across six departments and four faculties at NTNU.

His focus in the project is to research and develop sustainable business models (SBM) for the battery value chain considering reusing, repurposing, and recycling the batteries in the Norwegian and EU context. In addition, his interest covers topics such as circular economy, business ecosystems, and entrepreneurship in a broad sense.

Saad is associated with Experts in Teamwork (EiT) where he co-supervised a village/course in the spring semester of 2023. He is currently involved in the project 'Innovation in EiT'

Previously, Saad worked as a research assistant at the University of South-Eastern Norway, where he helped develop the University's student incubator.

Outreach

Will Norway drown in used EV batteries?

It is essential to gain a comprehensive understanding of how to handle end-of-life batteries. In this presentation, we discuss the challenges from the business model, design, and technical perspective.
