About

Research topic:
Energy and Emission Management Systems in large marine vessels within the Horizon Europe STEESMAT project.

The project addresses the call “Clean and competitive solutions for all transport modes” . The main objective of my research is to develop smart algorithms and modules for load prediction and optimization of fuel, energy, and emissions in marine vessels, benchmarked against state-of-the-art rule-based methods. Through these developments, the research aims to enable more efficient, sustainable, and intelligent energy management in future large-scale zero-emission vessels.

Background:

  • MSc in Electrical Engineering (AI & Robotics), Rochester Institute of Technology

  • BSc in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems), Jordan University of Science & Technology

Research interests:
Energy and emission management systems, machine learning, model predictive control, autonomous marine systems

Supervisor:
Roger Skjetne

Funding:

Research Council of Norway project 01192740, "STEESMAT: Smart Transformer for Enhanced Efficiency and Sustainability in Maritime Transportation" (STEESMAT).
